Gosaikunda is a sacred high-altitude alpine lake located in the Himalayas of northern Nepal inside Langtang National Park.
Situated at an elevation of about 4,380 meters, the lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, rocky hills, and peaceful Himalayan landscapes.
The lake holds great religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists.
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva created Gosaikunda by striking his trident into the mountain to obtain water after swallowing poison.
Gosaikunda is also one of Nepal’s most popular trekking destinations.

During the Janai Purnima festival, thousands of pilgrims travel to the lake for holy bathing and worship.
